." This organization focuses on providing comprehensive support and assistance to seniors, aiming to enhance their overall well-being and quality of life.
Seniors Life Centre was founded by Christine Karebwayire in 2017 to help vulnerable seniors in her country, Rwanda.
Christine’s love and compassion for seniors grew from a special relationship with her own grandparents that started when she was a young girl. Christine was sent to live with her grandparents, helping them around the house in their senior years. During this time, her grandparents raised Christine with love and affection, and she grew very close to them. Ever since, Christine’s grandparents have held a special place in her heart.
As an adult, Christine moved to Canada, and settled in Calgary, Alberta. During one of her visits home to Rwanda, Christine learned about a group of seniors who survived the 1994 genocide in Rwanda but had no living relatives to care for them. Christine was so moved by their suffering that she decided she had to do something to help.
Through Seniors Life Centre Hearts, Christine has implemented a range of programs to address the diverse needs of seniors. These initiatives include health education workshops, social events, and personalized care plans to ensure that each individual receives the attention they deserve. Christine 's nursing background enables her to integrate medical expertise into the organization's services, promoting a holistic approach to senior care.
Under Christine 's leadership, Seniors Life Centre has forged partnerships with local healthcare providers, community organizations, and volunteers. The organization has become a beacon of hope for seniors, offering a sense of community, support, and a helping hand when needed.
Christine 's commitment extends beyond the day-to-day operations of Seniors Life Centre. She actively engages in fundraising efforts to secure resources and expand the organization's reach. Her vision is to create a model that can be replicated in other communities, fostering a network of support for seniors across the region.
